"Sandbagging" - The New Makeup Buzzword for Summer 2016!
26th May 2016
Sandbagging is the latest makeup buzzword taking over the internet. Kim Kardashian's makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic initially posted a makeup tutorial of this trick in Summer 2015!

Heavy contouring, highlighting & defined lip colour application can bring along its own difficulties including excess grease on the skin under the eyes and bleeding of colour from the lips.
Enter sandbagging!! Sandbagging is about mopping up grease and excess oils. All you have to do is use a sponge to cake on loose translucent powder over foundation, focusing specifically on the areas underneath the eyes and around the bottom edges of the lips.
My favorite is Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder €20 from chemists.
Once the powder is applied, you wait a few minutes for it to set allowing the powder to soak up any excess grease around the eyes and mouth ensuring your makeup stays smooth and matte all day!
How does “Sandbagging” differ to “Baking” your makeup?
The “sandbagging” technique is helpful for lower eyelash makeup — mascara, liner, as well as sealing your lip colour around the mouth — so you want to get SUPER close to the lash line and lip line.
That's really where it differs from baking.
Baking has more of a highlight effect, where as with sandbagging, you really are just trying to keep other makeup out.
